5 stars My favorite game of all time! 2009-08-11

Reviewer: Brett A. Miller

I play a lot of games... probably too many. Although I come back to several games every now and then for nostalgia I am sure I will be playing this game regularly for as long as I play video games. Not only is the single player game great but the community makes this game infinitely playable with a constantly evolving catalog of levels.

But the best thing about this game is that you don't have to love video games to love this game. I recently played it with my brother who just got back from Germany and he absolutely loved it. Keep in mind my brother declared all video games a "massive waste of time" and "totally stupid" somewhere during his sophomore year of college, right after he met his future wife...hmmm. Anyway, he couldn't help but have a blast playing this game! HE could barely contain his laughter and hes 27 and just got out of the Army.

Meanwhile this game offers a lot of challenge for skilled players, especially veteran platformer-players who have been looking for a new style of play in an old genre. Some of the player-created levels are so hard they border on impossible, and that's the best part... you know it before you even play it, you can find the level that is perfect for you... easy and goofy or wicked hard but rewarding (getting the high score on one of those harder levels is very satisfying)

When I am no playing harder levels or a fun easier level with my family and friends I entertain myself by simply looking up levels based on "i like ghostbusters... lets see if there are any cool levels based on it" and sure enough there are... lots of em!

Despite a rather robust game collection I keep coming back to this one again and again! It's basically the perfect game for everyone thanks to the level creater. Did I mention how fun it is to make your own levels? When you get this great game try mine called Little Big Galaxy (my PSN is Sharpshell)although I warn you its on the harder side.

The single player itself is an amazing game with or without the online community. The Developers chose to invent there own style for the game mechanics which work well in the game rather than simply make a Mario clone. It offers a lot of ability to master the game. And for those who like the specs let me reassure you that:

Graffix: 5/5
Sound: 6/5 (honestly the sound in this game is beyond top notch, and Stephen Fry is hilarious)
Gameplay: 5/5
Multiplayer: 5/5

I can't really say anymore when all you need to do is order this game! You love this game unless you either
a)hate all video games or
b)can't enjoy yourself unless your slaughtering thousands of people and even if that's your thing keep and open mind and you'll find some levels perfect for you- I suggest the Resident Evil inspired levels)

5 stars LOVE this game:) 2009-08-10

My 15 yr. old son, who usually likes the violent 'mature' games, actually LOVES this one, and I am SOO glad to see it!! I would definitely recommend it for all.

4 stars A little on the hard side 2009-08-09

Reviewer: Ratchet&Spank

I've had this game for a couple months and I'm still getting stuck on multiple levels for days at a time. I've gotten all 120 stars in Mario Galaxy and reached the top rank in Killzone 2, but for some reason LBP continues to kick my ass. I bought this expecting it to be Ratchet & Clank difficult. Turns out it's like Ninja Gaiden on crack difficult. Some of the obsticles are seemingly impossible. Requiring you to replay the level over and over and over until you finally luck out and skim past it.

I can't recommend this if you're wanting a game for your impatient child. I'm a 25 year old gamer and some of these stages make even me want to throw a temper tantrum.

2 stars i saw the "adult review" so i bought it 2009-08-09

5 stars Got a PS3? Get This Game! 2009-08-07

Reviewer: CENA ROCKS!!!

This game was one of the reasons I got a PS3. It looked cool. I started to play this game with one controller, and I doubted how fun this game was. Maybe it was because I didn't understand it because I'm not patient enough to listen to the tutorials or read the instruction booklet. When I ordered a second controller (for co-op), though, I couldn't stop playing it. I began to understand the objectives and collecting stickers and it's also cool how you can customize your character any time in the game (with outfits, skins, glasses, hats, hair, etc. that you've earned) and you can even customize your space pod with all of the decorations and stickers you've earned. Create-a-level mode is also pretty cool, you earn tools and contraptions and then you get to place them in your own level. The game starts out really easy but it gets much more challenging after that. If you have a PS3 and don't have this game, you have to get it. It's impossible to have a PS3 without this. It has local and online co-op, a lot of PS3 games only have online co-op. I played this game until 5 am-that's how fun it is. Now I can't wait until the PSP version comes out.
